I used a 3/8 wood bit to bore out the hole for the shaft. The lock then installed perfectly. I wish it did come with a cover. Over time I worry about the lock’s quality in the elements. I plan to create or pursue a kind of cover for it. Otherwise, I’m very happy with this. And I love that I got 4 keys with it.Took 15 minutes to take the old off and place the new one on. Love the 4 keys. The old one had 2 keys and was hard to get a replacement keyThe 4” or 5” version is relative to the thickness of the door, not the length of the reach of the latch.Easy to install and works well so far!It was simple to install, product as described!
