This “hardware cloth,” as it’s called, is 24” x 50’ and the squares are 1/2”x1/2. Recently someone used wire cutters and cut through my horse fence from the top to almost the bottom. When a couple of my Great Pyrenees dogs went through the opening, they were cut and bloodied by the exposed wires. It was a 4’ high fence so I cut 4’ of the hardware cloth. I used zip ties and attached the hardware cloth to either side of the torn fence. It’s so strong that the dogs will not be able to rip it open. It is perfect for mending fences.A second use for this product is to install it at the bottom horse or wire fencing. It is 24” so I attach 12” with zip ties along the fence a foot up off the ground and then let it curve outwards 12” along the ground. I use the gardening stakes that are almost U-shaped with 6” long metal sticking into the ground to secure it. This prevents anything from digging under a fence, whether from inside or outside the fence. The fencing is so small even a black racer snake can’t get through. The Amish use this when they’re building small cages for quail, or for chicken coops where there will be baby chicks present.
