This ready to hang, gallery-wrapped art piece features a chicken standing in the center of the frame. I am a mostly self taught artist, living in a small picturesque town in Connecticut. From fields of sunflowers, spring trees in bloom, snowy landscapes, and places I travel, I can find inspiration anywhere. I also tend to be inspired by tractors, or my Dad’s first car, a 1929 Model A Ford, which I place in different landscapes. My children grown up, and being laid off from a technical job, now gives me time to pursue my dream of being an artist. Primarily painting with oils, I prefer a looser style, where the viewer has to work a bit to see details within the brush strokes. A lover of color, I will add my favorite paint, permanent rose whenever I can. Daily painting and taking classes from local artists, helps me to improve and keep challenging myself. Giclee (jee-clay) is an advanced printmaking process for creating high quality fine art reproductions. The attainable excellence that Giclee printmaking affords makes the reproduction virtually indistinguishable from the original piece. The result is wide acceptance of Giclee by galleries, museums, and private collectors. Gallery wrap is a method of stretching an artist's canvas so that the canvas wraps around the sides and is secured a hidden, wooden frame. This method of stretching and preparing a canvas allows for a frameless presentation of the finished painting.
