My dog eats kibble with freeze dried pieces crumbled on top of it. Out of no where he just stopped eating and I realized he was bored with the stuff I was giving him and I needed to find a new flavor and brand. I like this one because each rectangle is more nutritionally balanced than some others out there and better than regular treats. Even though I approved of the quality, the big question was if my picky dog would approve of the taste! He did, which is amazing because he likes nothing. Instead of mixing them with water I just crumble about half a piece onto his kibble and he eats it up. I'm going to keep buying this brand and try some other flavors until he stops eating his food again.My dog has pancreatitus so is on a very limited diet. He gets bored with his staple dog food, one half block of the primal freeze dried chicken, crumbled over 2 cups of his dry food gets him to eat. I ordered the pork flavor but his medical condition flared up, not sure why other than he does better with chicken products. I do use freeze dried beef liver sprinkles successfully, but the freeze dried chicken livers made his condition act up. It's hit or miss, but I wouldn't give him up for any reason, he's worth it! P. S. Vet told me he developed his medical condition because of eating too much fat, he was a big fan of cheese but I didn't know it would result in such damage. When the pancreas swells, it's very painfull for them, as well as causing mucous poop many times a day. Not fun when you have a dog screaming in pain as he squats to relieve himself. I would recommend trying this product for your dog, introduce slowly.I use this as a topper to get my Yorkie to eat more readily.My dogs love this stuffOur dear old girl was getting REALLY picky about finishing her food. Adding a couple of these "crumbles" to her kibble has changed her reluctance to finish a meal! NOW she licks her bowl clean ... easy to use ... we simply crumble, add to her meal and mix with some warm water.My super picky dog loves these (chicken or turkey are her favs) - I don’t do anything but put 2 in her bowl and bam! They’re gone! Add them to her regular wet food or give as treatsThey are raw Freeze Dried so there’s no mess either and I don’t hydrate themBesides the flavor, value for the cost and easy to use, our dog likes them and has continued to eat them. Our dog rarely likes a dog food after he tries it. The Primal Freeze Dried food has been different, he continues to eat this in Chicken flavor, Venison, and Pork. He persists eating them by the chunk, not mixed with any liquid. He is a 12 lb Pom and has gone for days without eating just about anything, even off the table, but he will take the chunk, guard it until he decides to eat it. Don't try to take it from him! That makes this food a sure thing for our Lil boy! To me it means the flavors must be good to him and the cost cannot be an issue since he eats so little otherwise. As long as he eats Primal I will order!It doesn’t dissolve easily but maybe that’s okay. My older dog has a sensitive stomach and had some trouble digesting just one nugget on her regular food but the other was fine.I have been using this food in addition to raw frozen dog food for 2 years. My dogs are healthier, and their teeth are in great t shape.Easy to mince up with fingers. Served on top of, lightly covering kibble food.Love this dog food, just wish it wasn't so expensive. I can only use as a supplement to dry food because it is so costly.Dog loves it.
