I thought the product would be a little heavier duty; but it’s better than what I had before. Will review again after I have used it more. Delivery was super fast and arrived in great condition!edit: I won’t hold this against the company because if this were not a good product there would be nothing to work with. I have noticed that the weight of the full bowl will cause the nut to lose tension and the bowl will drop. To avoid “droop” add a lock washer and depending on the strength of your kennel, you may need to use a small wedge as well. Once the bowl droops, filling the bowl leads to more spills.I have bought many bowls for my dogs kennels. First there was puppy size, then a middle size (not quite sure why now, but the big ones seemed way too big next to the puppy ones), and then finally the adult bowls…of course not all bowls are made alike. I bought one set that though “chromed” it seating rusting within months. Then I got the better chrome/stainless bowls and the dogs bent them with their paw. I finally found strong bowls and true stainless, but after 3 years they needed refreshing. This was one of those purchase that I did t even break the shipping box down and delicately opened the box that the bowls came in because I figured odds were high that these would be going back. Needless to say, I was wrong. This is exactly what I was looking for. The bowls are true stainless (zero magnetism) and the steel support is heavy duty enough to do the job. The wire support is welded to the steel attachment plate. If there is a probable area for failure it is this attachment. if it does fail, it will not be hard to weld back together and repaint. The size is perfect for overnight in the kennel. The interior dimensions of the bowl are roughly 5 1/2” x 2 1/4”. I highly recommend these bowls for quality, size and usability.had to put a wide rubber band around top of cup to make a snug fit and now Thumper cannot take bowl our of its base.My dog likes to chew everything. She managed to get the metal bowl off the holder, chew the paint off it, then proceeded to bend the part that holds it to the cage. Our 14-month old German Shepherd, Grizz, is the size of a small bear, with jaws of steel, high intelligence, and a low boredom threshold. He will upend any food/water bowl, preferring to eat and drink off the floor. We tried a five-gallon drinking fountain, sure he wouldn't be able to turn THAT over, and wound up mopping a couple inches of water. We didn't want to kennel him without access to water (his training regimen includes kenneling between sessions), so we've been desperately seeking anything that will allow him to drink without flooding the place. We tried one of those hamster-bottles-on-steroids: Grizz pulled out the "leakproof" steel nozzle in the first five minutes. This product promised to get the bowls off the kennel floor where he might step in them, and attached to the kennel wires so he couldn't turn them over. Fabulous! We ordered two.You attach the bowls to the side of the cage by screwing two metal plates tightly together with the cage in between. The inner plate is welded to a metal ring that holds a lipped stainless steel bowl. You fill the bowl and slide it into the ring, where it hangs, suspended, in the kennel.Attaching the ring to the kennel was a bit fiddly, but we figured it out pretty quickly. So did Grizz: He discovered that the plates only attach at a single point and are pretty flexible, allowing him to press DOWN on the ring and release it, sending food and water flying. What fun! (for Grizz, anyway)He quickly learned to push the filled bowl up from the bottom, out of the ring and onto the kennel floor. He loved rolling in soggy dog food and making the empty metal rings go sprooooooing!Sigh. If you have a dainty, polite little dog that would never EVER think of making his own entertainment from what's on hand, buy these. Otherwise, wait until the manufacturer has done some serious re-engineering:First, instead of ONE attachment point, make a longer, wider, heavier plate with three or four sturdy steel bolts to stabilize. Also, I'd recommend this for kennels with heavier-gauge wire or bars. The thin-gauge standard kennel wire is too flexible.Second, beef up the ring holding the bowl--so it's not so....springy.Third, while it's wonderful that you can easily slide the filled bowl in and out of the ring, and also great that the bowl is lipped, it would be much better to have a way to clamp/click/fasten the bowl to the ring. That way, the Grizzes of the world can't poke the bowl from the bottom and send it flying into the air.Love this plate. They are sturdy. My dog can not chew on them. They clean easily and instalation is a breeze. Is everything I was looking for in a kennel plate.Broken wing nut right out of the box And bolts stick out without any plastic caps. I had to grind them to size. Bowl is easily removable for cleaning though but Not an appropriate design for more rowdy crated dogsWorks well enough. Bowl is thin and seems like it may easily dent, but so far so good. The threads don’t seem to hold in place for very long. Not cross threaded or anything… just tips to the side no matter what I try (husband also). No biggie, but last one I bought from a different seller (different product but same premise) is more sturdy. The photos in the product description show two bolts for fastening this to the crate but they actually only come with one bolt. The metal plates that are supposed to go on either side of the crate to secure it are not flat - they bow out - making it impossible to tighten properly.I tried them for a week and the bolts were constantly coming loose and the bowls would tip over making a mess in the crate.Maybe they work well for a gentle dog but they are not puppy proof, that is for sure.I do not recommend this product. It is poorly made and falsely advertised. This bowl is great in theory but the single bolt that attaches it to the cage allows the dog to easily spin the bowl upside down so I added two additional screws to prevent it from spinning. The next issue that arose was that the ring was only attached to the bracket by two tiny spot welds which broke under the weight of the water after a couple weeks of use. Overall I would not recommend this bowl unless you plan on modifying it yourself.I looked around for a good way to have water on hand for my Rottweiler while she's in her cage. The bottles were all too small and putting the bowl in her cage it'd get knocked around and collect her fur. This one attaches nice and easily to the side, doesn't budge. I can easily take the bowl out of the holder to clean and refill and it's at the perfect height in the cage it's not getting beaten up on. Might need order another one for food when we travel. Much thanks! ♥Made of very cheap material that doesn't last...I bought 6 of those and 2 of them broke during the first week of use and 1 arrived broken in the box. They all broke where the circular welding meets the plate. I have small pomeranians and chihuahuas and got the big 26 onces and they didn't even last a week that big with very small dogs...Imagine using them with big dogs now. Don't waste your money get something made stronger.
